Human Resource Generalist
Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a Human Resource Generalist for JBS that applies business knowledge and human resources expertise to every facet of the company. Assists in providing a wide range of HR support and advice. Plays a key role in the success of the organization by offering guidance on recruitment, terminations, performance management, employee relations, and HR best practices while facilitating a positive relationship between personnel and senior management. The ideal candidate will be very detail oriented and thrive on supporting a busy, fast-paced team. This role offers excellent growth potential! This position is located onsite in Mason, Ohio.
Responsibilities:
1. Implements and administer employee policies.
1. Assist in conducting New Hire Orientation and Safety Training
1. Assist in tracking and managing FMLA claims
1. Responsible for attendance tracking and keeping managers informed of attendance issues
1. Responsible for payroll administrationor backup when needed
1. Provides high-quality advice and service to management on daily employee relations and performance management issues.
1. Answers to routine questions and inquiries that require knowledge of established departmental procedures and familiarity with operations and programs with human resources
1. Assists in conducting internal investigations by gathering data
1. Supports the HR department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience.
1. Assists with the development of various activities such as training and development workshops, communications, and/or town hall meetings
1. Offers proactive recruiting assistance.
1. Assists in pre-employment screening, applicant assessments and employment verification.
1. Supports recruiting/job fair events when needed
1. Prepares termination and severance letters.
1. Conducts follow-up exit interviews
1. Responsible for administering benefit and government programs.
1. Maintains confidentiality of both current and former employees and their records
1. Maintains personnel files and Human Resource Information System records; compiles reports from HR database.
1. Assist in tracking and managing Unemployment Claims, I-9 compliance
1. Assists in sick leave and leave of absence program, FMLA administration, benefit continuation and premium payment tracking
1. May assume other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ Associate’s degree in business management or related field and 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Ability to speak, read, and write English
+ Excellent verbal, written communication and organizational skills
+ Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
+ Excellent attendance
+ Knowledge of employment law practices
+ Knowledge of Human Resource Systems/HRIS (SAP); Internet software; Microsoft Office Suite/Microsoft 365 (Word PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint)
+ Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
+ As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. Unless otherwise specified in this posting, the amount of travel may vary and the most qualified candidate must be willing and able to travel as business needs dictate.
The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
+ Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment.
+ Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays.
+ 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule.
+ Base salary range of $49,585-$60,246
+ Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan; the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program.
