• Foster Care Supervisor – Lead with Heart. Guide with Purpose!

Are you a seasoned child welfare professional ready to take the next step in leadership? We’re seeking a compassionate and experienced Foster Care Supervisor to oversee and support our dedicated team serving children and families in Southwest Michigan.

In this pivotal role, you’ll provide guidance, mentorship, and oversight to foster care case managers—ensuring high-quality services, regulatory compliance, and positive outcomes for youth in care. You’ll be a champion for safety, permanency, and healing, helping families navigate complex systems with dignity and support.

• Location: Southwest Michigan 🎓 Required Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in a human services field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Sociology).

+ Minimum 3 years of experience in child welfare or foster care services.

+ Unrestricted, valid driver’s licensewith good driving record. Reliable personal transportation suitable for safely transporting persons served; proof of current automobile insurance.

This is a FULL TIME SALARIED ROLE that has a wage range, based on applicable experience, of $55,744 - $58,864 per year. Benefits are effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment and are detailed below.

Duties and Responsibilities

+ Provide weekly individual and team supervision to staff. Lead team meetings and train and support staff.

+ Oversee assignment and placement of children.

+ Work with licensing supervisor to ensure compliance with child placing agency rules and liaison with family court, DHS and other community systems.

+ Provide a range of case management services, including social casework, counseling and treatment of clients, and community referral.

+ Support, direction and leadership for case managers.

+ Provide supportive casework services to child, birth family and foster family during initial placement and replacement.

+ Prepare and attend all scheduled court hearings on assigned caseload.

+ Ensure accurate and completion of all reports and assignments required by the organization or other agencies.

Job Qualifications

Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

Master degree in a Human Behavioral Science field AND 1 year of experience as a social service worker in an agency, or a child caring institution, or in an agency in a child welfare function PREFERRED

OR

Bachelor’s degree in a Human Behavioral Science field AND 4 years of experience as a social service worker, 2 years of which are in an agency or in a child caring institution, or in an agency in a child welfare function REQUIRED.

+ Licensed by the State of Michigan as a social worker preferred.

Additional Work Requirements

+ Required to participate in a system of 24 hour availability to clients, foster and adoptive parents, and staff, as required.

+ Unrestricted, valid driver’s license with good driving record. Reliable personal transportation suitable for safely transporting persons served; proof of current automobile insurance.
