As an AI Solutions Specialist, you will be instrumental in harnessing artificial intelligence to drive business innovation, efficiency, and growth. You will design, develop, and deploy AI models and solutions that perform data analysis, empower strategic decision-making, automate business processes, and optimize performance across the organization. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise and strong business acumen to translate complex problems into impactful AI solutions.
HOW AN AI SOLUTIONS SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
As an AI Solutions Specialist, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the United States Postal Service.
Analysis and insight generation
+ Analyze complex datasets using AI and machine learning techniques to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights that align with business objectives
+ Create and present advanced data visualizations and dashboards to effectively communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
+ Develop custom data models and algorithms to perform predictive modeling that optimize business outcomes such as revenue generation or customer experiences.
Decision support
+ Develop AI-driven decision support systems that enable leaders to make better-informed strategic choices
+ Build simulations and forecasting models that analyze different scenarios and predict their potential outcomes before strategic decisions are made
+ Provide technical guidance to business units on the capabilities and limitations of AI for addressing their operational challenges.
Automation
+ Design and implement end-to-end automation workflows that utilize generative AI and other models to streamline and reduce manual tasks
+ Build and maintain robust data and AI pipelines for information extraction and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
+ Integrate AI capabilities into existing business applications and processes to enhance functionality and user interaction
Optimization
+ Optimize and fine-tune existing AI models to enhance their accuracy, efficiency, and overall performance
+ Engineer cost-optimization agents and other AI solutions that maximize resource allocation in multi-cloud environments
+ Conduct continuous monitoring and evaluation of deployed AI systems to ensure sustained performance and identify opportunities for further improvement
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Education:
+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related quantitative field
Required Experience:
+ 5+ years of experience with proven experience designing, developing, and deploying AI and machine learning models in a business or production environment
Technical skills:
+ Proficiency in programming languages like Python and SQL
+ Expertise in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn
+ Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
+ Knowledge of various AI techniques, including deep learning, NLP, and computer vision
+ Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and version control systems (Git)
+ High level of proficiency in Prompt Engineering
+ Familiar with the major generative AI Large Language Models in the market today (ChatGPT, Gemini, Anthropic, etc.)
Problem-solving skills:
+ Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities, with a data-driven mindset and a knack for creative solutions
+ Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
**Security Clearance Level** :
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting

The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years._**

The likely salary range for this position is $119,000 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

GDIT typically provides new employees with 15 days of paid leave per calendar year to be used for vacations, personal business, and illness and an additional 10 paid holidays per year. Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee’s date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees.
