*This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 9am-6pm. The occasional Saturday shift (about every couple months) from 8am-2pm is required. Located at Scripps Coastal Medical Center in Hillcrest. We currently have one opening in Family Medicine and another in Internal Medicine. *

*Your job duties:*
* Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
* Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
* Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
* Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice
* Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
* Collecting patient data in person and by phone
* Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
* Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
* Scheduling of appointments and procedures
* Complete and accurate message taking
* Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
* Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
* Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics

*Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:*
* Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
* Detail oriented
* Experience administering vaccines
*Required Certification/Registration:*
* BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)
*Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:*
* MA in an outpatient setting
