Responsibilities
+ Ensure reliability and performance of Word Online services at global scale.
+ Lead initiatives to modernize service infrastructure, reduce operational overhead, and improve engineering velocity.
+ Build automation and AI-based solutions for monitoring, diagnostics, and self-healing systems.
+ Design scalable, secure, and maintainable service architectures.
+ Continuously identify opportunities to improve service health and customer experience.
+ Embody the Microsoft culture and values
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, OR equivalent experience.
+ Experience with service fundamentals including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and performance optimization.
+ Experience with automation frameworks and interest in AI-driven service optimization.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ 6+ years of experience designing, developing, and operating cloud services with solid coding and debugging skills in Typescript/Javascript, C#, Java, or similar, plus familiarity with web technologies.
+ Experience with problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
