Major/Essential Functions:
+ Contributes to the university's mission through research and service.
+ Adherence to robust safety practices and compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.
+ Work with a group established to substantially enhance the 0-48hr prediction of severe Texas flooding and other types of high-impact weather events. This will be done by creating a state-of-the-art weather prediction system that serves as the first step of a new State of Texas infrastructure built to protect lives, property, and the economy.
+ Focus is on 1) the design, implementation, and maintenance of a real-time high-resolution (1km grid spacing) ensemble modeling system positioned over Texas, and 2) the generation of specific data streams that can support products for specific user groups (e.g., Texas emergency management, Texas Department of Transportation, National Weather Service, or hydrologic modeling efforts).
+ Close collaboration with several State of Texas and National Weather Service partners and some associated travel.

Academic degree as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a researcher. Should have a record of activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of research.
This position requires eligibility to drive TTU vehicles, including a valid U.S. driver license and two years of driving experience.
