    Job Brief

     

    Join our team as a Logistics Coordinator II!

     

    Summary: Supports transportation department by helping to create/generate routine reports and coordinate frozen/DSD shipping logistics.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    + Reviews and updates information used for driver’s performance evaluation systems.

    + Assists with Corporate Dispatch as needed with DSD orders and routing

    + Coordinate logistics for international and domestic cold storage orders.

    + Acts as liaison between sales, transportation, production and third parties through the ordering and distribution of frozen product.

    + Brainstorms and helps to develop department metrics to align with corporate objectives.

    + Works with third party carriers to ensure that cold storage product is delivered to end consumer.

    + Assists in running reports from electronic log device (ELD) system relating to DOT compliance and safety.

    + Adheres to safety, food safety and quality and Good Manufacturing Practice regulations.

    + Sets up pick up and deliveries for ingredient pickups, utilizing back hauls when possible

    + Processing International documentation for International orders with 5 days of loading.

    + Responding to Customer inquiries (quoting domestic shipments, tracking, and tracing updates)

    + Auditing freight invoices to ensure billed at correct negotiated rates

    + Negotiate transportation rates from third party carriers.

    + Schedule loading appointments with loading facilities.

    + Research customer claims relating to transportation damages.

    + Creates reports on transportation data in to readable formats for upper management based on requirements needed

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Education and/or Experience:

    + High School Diploma or GED;

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related business field; or

    + One to three years’ related experience and/or training; or

    + Equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Skills:

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    Mathematical Skills:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to operate or learn to operate electric jack.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

    • Must possess a current, valid driver's license.

    Computer Skills:

    + Advanced knowledge in all Microsoft Suite Products

    + Strong knowledge of inventory management and order fulfillment system; e.g. Savanna.

    + Strong knowledge of Oracle.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The temperature in the dock area is directly affected by outside temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
