DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS – PRISON ENTERPRISES
Baton Rouge, LA
This position is located in the Purchasing/Business Office-Property & Fleet.
+ Serves as the Property Control Manager (PCM) for Prison Enterprises (PE) and is solely responsible for the complex management and coordination of a statewide system for monitoring state moveable property of equipment and livestock assets valued at over $13 million consisting of approximately 966 equipment assets and 2,027 livestock assets. This position must ensure compliance with Louisiana State Property Assistance Agency (LPAA) rules and regulations and ensure all PE property is located annually for the LPAA Property Certification. Also, the PCM is responsible for a comprehensive, division-wide fleet usage and maintenance program and serves as the Office of Risk Management (ORM) insurance liaison to ensure compliance with the State Loss Prevention Program, which directly impacts the DOC’s annual insurance premiums.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Ensures compliance with Louisiana State Property Assistance Agency (LPAA) rules and regulations and is solely responsible for ensuring all PE property is located annually for the LPAA Property Certification by conducting audit/site visits and attending all fall cattle workings at all PE locations. Also, the PCM is responsible for a comprehensive, division-wide fleet usage and maintenance program for all of PE’s fleet vehicles and serves as the Office of Risk Management (ORM) insurance liaison to ensure compliance with the State Loss Prevention Program and tracks all insurance claims for PE.
+ Prison Enterprises is an ancillary “Enterprise Fund”, operating entirely on self-generated revenue with a staff of approximately 66, operating over 30 individual cost centers at 7 correctional facilities across this State, along with a Headquarters location in Baton Rouge. This position is vital in our ability to accurately and timely account for state assets and to properly report to LPAA and ORM with any movement, loss, and/or damage of state property, both of which, if not tracked and recorded properly, can result in losses to the state.

+ Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
+ An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
+ This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
