    This position is for a full-time, 12-month, unclassified, in-person staff position located on-site at our Bossier Campus.

     

    Salary commensurate with credentials and experience.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Associate degree with two (2) years of work experience in customer service with one (1) year in a business office environment; OR

    + Four years (4) of work experience in customer service with two (2) years in a business office environment

    + Administrative support experience preferred.

    + Ability to multi-task and coordinate several detail-oriented projects.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

    + Excellent interpersonal, organization, written, and spoken community skills needed with the ability to interact with students, faculty, and staff on a one-on-one basis.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    + Must have use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, and handle or feel objects and controls.

    + Must have physical capability to effectively use and operate assorted items of office equipment such as, but not limited to, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.

    + Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 10 pounds.

    + Must be capable of sitting in stationary position for 50% or more of time.

    Job Specification

     

    The Campus Police Support Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the Chief of Campus Police and the part-time security officers for the Campus Police department.

     

    Job Duties and Other Information

     

    + Responsible for facilitating an exceptional customer service experience to students and ensuring consistency with institution, state and federal policies and procedures.

    + Independently deal with diverse and at times hostile situations. Evaluates and resolves student inquiries, issues, and problems, ensuring appropriate action while ensuring confidentiality and maintaining a calm demeanor.

    + Receive and disseminate professional and confidential information such as but not limited to personnel files for part-time security personal, injury reports, alarm codes, faculty, staff and students’ complaints, personal data, accrued sick leave, and payroll information.

    + Liaison with other police agencies, District Attorney offices, local and parish court systems and Guardian Alarm Monitors.

    + Screens visitors and telephone calls, answers routine questions concerning the division and/or college and routes calls and/or visitors to appropriate areas.

    + Disseminates parking permits to all students, faculty, and staff and records and maintain records for all.

    + Manage the Campus Police budget and coordinate submission and completion of all budgets within the Division.

    + Prepares purchase requisitions, check requests, and updates budget for department.

    + Prepares and maintains part-time contracts for Chief review.

    + Collects and prepares data for monthly and year-end reports for division.

    + Assist with the collection of data and preparation of Clery Report and State mandated reports.

    + Prepare, disseminate, and coordinate professional correspondence for the administrator informing divisional staff members of administrative decisions and matters of policy.

    + Interact daily with students, faculty, staff, and the public by phone, chat, and email on sensitive matters.

    + Alerts the chief to problems received such as but not limited to weather, theft, injury, and violence.

    + Complete incident and accident reports for faculty, staff and students as needed.

    + Organize and maintain a daily schedule of appointments and meetings.

    + Maintain office hour forms for part-time security officers, prepares and maintains time sheets and leave forms for the Chief and part-time security officers, and submits to Human Resources office when needed.

    + Attend staff meetings, prepare minutes, and assists with follow up on specific assignments.

    + Maintain inventory for departmental property control and purchase supplies as needed.

    + Develop reports as appropriate to job duties.
