Description:
Salary is non-negotiable. The successful candidate will be hired at the minimum salary.
This advanced technical role involves supporting computer users within the Administrative Office of the Courts. Responsibilities include providing assistance over the phone and at various Eleventh Judicial Circuit courthouse locations. Duties include hardware and software installation, as well as identification and resolution of user-reported issues. Work is performed under close supervision and reviewed by a Technician Supervisor.
This position requires travel to various court locations and other county locations. A valid driver's license and proof of insurance is required.
Responsibilities:
+ Troubleshoots, analyzes and resolves computer hardware, software and communication problems; uses diagnostic software and technical troubleshooting processes; corrects and reports any anomalies.
+ Troubleshoots, analyzes and resolves hardware and software problems/issues; uses diagnostic software and technical troubleshooting processes; and works with network staff to resolve problems as required.
+ Manages personal computers and laptops; installs, configures and provides support for desktops, laptops, printers and peripherals; and provides user basic training as required. Configures (Virtual Private Network) VPN and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
+ Provides software and hardware upgrades to ensure efficient system operations for users.
+ Researches and installs new software on workstations as needed; adds/configures new users and troubleshoots mailbox problems.
+ Supports miscellaneous equipment, such as audio-visual, court cell phones, laptops, troubleshoots and corrects problems.
+ Assists in training users in the use of computer equipment.
+ Maintains a log of equipment in use; updates as necessary; and verifies equipment slated for disposal.
+ Installs, relocates, and performs operational checks on computer equipment.
+ Maintains awareness of advances in computer technology.
+ Maintains hardware inventory system and prepares reports.
+ Performs related work as required.
Qualifications:
+ Associate’s degree.
+ Three (3) years of experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of personal computers and related equipment are required.
+ A combination of education and experience may be substituted for the above qualifications on a year-for-year basis.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
+ Ability to clearly communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner; and provide one-on-one end-user training as needed.
+ Ability to assist Network Technicians and other senior technical staff and troubleshoot network printer problems.
+ Knowledge of email management, Internet web browsing troubleshooting, and administration management of the Microsoft Productivity Suite.
+ Knowledge in deployment/management/troubleshooting/repairing of desktop based hardware/software and thorough understanding of networking concepts.
+ Knowledge in conducting hardware and software inventory database maintenance and reporting.
+ Strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people in a diverse environment.
+ Knowledge of email and calendaring functions.
+ Knowledge of various types of personal computers, networks, computer terminals, printers, and associated hardware.
+ Knowledge of standard applications software including Windows, Disc Operating System (DOS), word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, database, online services, Microsoft teams, and Zoom.
+ Ability to diagnose personal computers and peripherals, terminals, and printer problems and provide assistance to users.
+ Ability to distinguish between equipment problems and employee training needs.
+ Ability to support by phone and in person hardware and software.
+ Ability to follow instructions, work under supervision, and multi-task.
+ Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
+ Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with both customers and technical personnel from other county departments.
+ Ability to operate personal computers, terminals, and related equipment.
+ Ability to understand platform technology, Local Area Network (LAN’s), Wide Area Network (WAN’s).

Physical Demands:
+ Work involves a significant amount of standing, walking, sitting, talking, listening and reaching with hands and arms. Must be able to transfer up to 50 pounds. Must be able to travel to various court locations and other county locations.
Licenses Certifications:
+ + Certification in A+, Network+, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL V3), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) preferred.
+ Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
