Job Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Vice President of Organizational Effectiveness (OE) and Patient Experience (PE) is responsible for strengthening alignment between identified system and hospital business priorities, supporting Methodist’s vision/strategy, and helping to improve the overall effectiveness of the organization. The VP is responsible for supporting local and system-wide workforce development initiatives aimed at enhancing staff, leader, departmental, and organizational performance, and ensuring that the experience for our workforce, patients, and communities is consistent, seamless, and exceptional. This VP partners with key business leaders, physicians, and HR professionals to drive end-to-end design, deployment, and reinforcement of OE and PE programs, strategies, and interventions as well as to measure the effectiveness of these initiatives and report results to key stakeholders. This role also supports and promotes the vision, mission, and strategic plans of Methodist Health System (MHS).
Job Requirements:
Education:
+ Master’s degree in a related discipline (Organization or HR Development, Organizational Management, Business Administration, Human Resources (HR), I/O Psychology, and/or related field).
Licenses and/or Certifications:
+ Certification and/or experience administering commonly used OE, organizational development (OD), and leadership development tools ( _e.g., multi-rater feedback, style/personality assessments, team building tools, etc.)_ and learning curriculums preferred
+ CPTD or SPHR certification preferred
+ CPXP certification preferred
Work Experience:
+ Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in a healthcare setting, in areas such as organizational effectiveness, organizational consulting, learning and development, human resources, talent development or talent management; minimum of 3 years or more in a senior leadership position preferred.
Related Work Experience and Other Skills:
+ Strong process orientation and ability to take an initiative from ideation to sustainability.
+ Possess a strong working knowledge of and demonstrated experience in developing, adapting, and applying appropriate OD/OE-related models, practices, tools and current trends.
+ Knowledge of current thought leadership, trends, and practices in the disciplines related to OD/OE, leadership development, talent and performance management, and employee, physician, and patient experience. Demonstrates commitment to continuous learning, innovation and growth.
+ Working knowledge of data and analytics management and trends to support patient and workforce analytics.
+ Detail-oriented, logical, and applies a methodological approach to problem solving.
+ Ability to influence key stakeholders across the organization by providing thought leadership.
+ Ability to effectively plan and schedule the work of others.
+ Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented and cross-functional environment.
Job Roles:
+ Identify organizational performance and learning needs and effectively develop, implement, deliver, and evaluate solutions to meet those needs. Key areas of focus include development at all organizational levels, patient, employee, and physician experience and service excellence, performance improvement, and quality/process improvement.
+ Oversee the organization’s strategy to design and deliver positive patient, employee, and physician experiences and to monitor all associated key performance indicators (KPIs).
+ Lead a team of OE and PE) leaders and professionals. Provide clear direction, task clarity, and consistent, balanced performance feedback. Cultivate an engaging work environment for the team with a focus on developing and empowering each member.
+ Oversee the development and implementation of cost-effective OE and PE solutions, monitor change efforts, and evaluate results.
+ Provide internal consulting to the organization’s leadership to assist in driving successful business results and employee effectiveness. Provide coaching and assist leadership in development planning.
+ Analyze and evaluate results regarding the value or impact of performance-enhancing or developmentally-focused solutions. Leverage findings to increase overall workforce effectiveness. Develop and/or integrate innovative performance-enhancing tools for the workforce.
+ Oversee the planning and execution of OE and PE-related interventions while engaging and collaborating with appropriate key stakeholders.
+ Oversee the design and implementation of a system-wide staff and leadership development strategy including a curriculum design/delivery plan. Ensure the effective administration and governance of MHS’s learning management system and other L&D platforms.
+ Support data-based decisions and strategic decision-making by overseeing thorough data analyses, concise reporting, and effective result presentations to key stakeholders, including senior leadership, managers, board members, and physicians. Ensure accuracy of analyses and reporting.
+ Cultivate and maintain strong working partnerships with key MHS Leadership across the system, including internal and external strategic colleagues and vendors.
+ Work on special projects and initiatives aligned to elevate the MHS mission.
+ Other duties as assigned.
