The Physical Therapist is responsible for performing student evaluations, as well as providing and documenting therapy services in accordance with plan of care developed for each student and per physician’s orders when applicable.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of practice
+ Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy
+ One (1) year of prior professional Physical Therapy experience preferred
+ Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
General Comments Full-Time Physical Therapist – NEC/WEC Campus
Newark Education Center Full-day Functional Skills Development program for students with severe to profound disabilities needing moderate to Amergisum support. Focuses on self-care, sensory awareness, physical development, communication, and pre-vocational skills.
Wayne Education Center Social Skills Development programs for K–12 students, fostering social-emotional growth and school success. Graduates may earn Regents, Local Diplomas, or CDOS credentials based on individual goals.
Full- Time Physical Therapist- FLES & RJEC Campus
Finger Lakes Elementary School Full-day program for students on the autism spectrum, focusing on social, behavioral, and communication skills. Integrated therapies (occupational, physical, speech, music) and support from psychologists and counselors. Features sensory rooms and low student-to-staff ratio (6:1 2 assistants) for personalized attention.
Red Jacket Education Center Three SSD programs for K–12 students with behavioral, emotional, or mental health needs. Offers tailored support for diverse abilities to promote academic and social-emotional growth.
Overview: WFL BOCES is hiring a full-time Physical Therapist to serve students across the NEC and WEC campuses. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting student mobility, independence, and access to learning environments.
Qualifications:
NYS Physical Therapy license required.
School-based experience or pediatric background preferred.
Reliable transportation for travel between sites.
