Special Education Teacher | $55/hr | Full-Time | Crestwood, IL Area | Autism & Transition Programs | 2025–2026 School Year

Amergis Educational Staffing is hiring four full-time Special Education Teachers to support specialized programs in the Crestwood, IL area. These roles begin November 3, 2025, and run for one full school year.

Position Overview:

+ Location: Crestwood, IL area

+ Start Dates: November 3–13 or December 2–11 (New Hire Training)

+ Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (37.5 paid hours/week, includes 30-minute paid break)

+ Pay: $55/hr

+ Modality: In-person

+ Interview Type: In-person preferred (virtual available for travelers)

+ Vacancies: 4 openings

+ Transition program with life skills and functional independence focus

+ Autism-focused classrooms at elementary and high school levels

Program Details:

+ Classroom Models:

+ Self-contained with push-in/pull-out services based on student needs

+ Classrooms capped at 6–7 students

+ Dedicated SPED teacher and TA per classroom

+ Additional para support provided (including 1:1 assignments)

+ Support Services:

+ Interdisciplinary team includes SLPs, BCBAs, SWs, RNs, PTs, OTs, RBTs

+ Highly supportive administration focused on collaboration and resource access

Minimum Requirements:

+ Valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement

+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)

+ One year of teaching experience (preferred)

+ CPR certification, TB test, fingerprinting, and Faith’s Law compliance

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
