Job Description
We’re seeking a motivated individual for an entry-level professional role that supports and coordinates undergraduate medical education programs. Working under the general guidance of the Department Manager and/or Clerkship Director, the **Clerkship Coordinator** manages the daily operations of core and elective clinical experiences for medical students.
This position serves as the key point of contact between students, the Clerkship Director, off-site faculty (including hospital and office-based partners), and medical school staff. Building and maintaining strong relationships with faculty, students, and administrators is central to this role.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., health sciences, business, public administration, or education)
+ 2–5 years of experience in a high-level administrative role, preferably in a fast-paced environment
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
+ Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
+ Ability to think critically, solve problems, and make decisions independently
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in a related field
+ Experience working with students in an academic or medical school setting
+ Familiarity with LCME accreditation standards
+ Knowledge of UMKC School of Medicine policies and procedures
