What You'll Be Doing

**Job Scope:** Generally responsible for supervision and technical direction over a team of designers when functioning as a lead designer. As lead designer, responsibilities will include total delivery of the electrical and instrumentation deliverables and services on time, within performance budget and meeting quality expectations. Duties may include performing advanced design work serving as a technical specialist for a complex design assignment. This level requires extensive progressive experience in electrical and instrumentation design and involves utilization of project controls for cost, schedule and quality of projects. This work will be performed under minimal supervision.

Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

+ Ability to work with direction of Engineer and\or Sr Designer and interface with other disciplines.

+ Can meet all deadlines as required by project schedule •Perform the necessary fieldwork, pulling measurements, as-building existing systems, etc.

+ Ability and willingness to learn Senior design skills to continue to grow and support the department needs

+ MTO Material Take Off - Estimating required material for projects.

+ Must be able to work various projects and maintain project schedule.

+ Design, Review and Maintain all manner of I&E drawings including but not limited to, P&I’s, single lines, motor schematics, I/O Drawings, Panel schedules and loadings, Cable tray routes, CCS and M&E databases.

Ideal Background

**Education:** Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting is required.

**Certification:** Certification is not required at this level.

**Experience:** This position requires 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

+ Should be proficient in MicroStation, Excel and Word and PDMS\E3D experience a plus.

+ Demonstrate the ability to design in congested operating areas and must have fieldwork experience

+ Some work may require working at heights above 6 feet, climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and using man-lifts, etc.

+ Be able to work in an operating chemical plant in the heat and humidity of South Mississippi.

+ Prefer MicroStation but would consider AutoCAD.

Physical Requirements

+ Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
