About the role
We are hiring an Asset Reliability Engineer to improve asset reliability across the Coatings and Proteins plant network in the US.
This role will be based out of one of Kerry plant locations - Rome, GA, Calhoun, GA, Evansville, IN or Melrose Park, IL, and reports to the Director of Engineering. Travel (within USA 48 states) is expected to be 2-3 weeks in a month to the various plants.
Key responsibilities
The role will lead improvements in asset reliability across a network of plants supporting Coatings and Proteins businesses. Specifically,
Provides support to manufacturing sites to develop, optimize and implement
oPreventative maintenance (PM) programs
oMRO inventory management systems
oKAMS (Kerry Asset Maintenance System) process and tools
oComputer Maintenance Management Systems (SAP-PM)
oBest maintenance practices and standards
Support manufacturing sites in implementing and executing their Maintenance Excellence Program, i.e.,
oMaintenance fundamentals
oReliability centered maintenance
oOperational excellence
Collaborate with sites to define asset criticality and reliability maintenance strategies
Utilize and leverage maintenance key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize cost, identify gaps and identify opportunities to improve asset performance
Lead and support analysis of equipment and systems failures, using problem solving and continuous improvement tools (i.e. RCA, DMAIC and FMECA)
Support project teams during equipment selection and defining preventative/predictive maintenance strategies for new assets and new acquisitions
Collaborate with Procurement, participate in the development and evaluation of MRO suppliers and 3rd party maintenance service providers
Support other functions with maintenance and reliability related inquiries and expertise
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for maintenance and reliability subject areas, as assigned
Supports site capability building with assessment and evaluation of site maintenance staff, training and knowledge transfer to site maintenance teams
Maintain and deploy a broad knowledge of industry trends and new technology innovation in maintenance and reliability to enhance Kerry manufacturing and operational capabilities
Competencies
Demonstrated experience and capability in maintenance, reliability engineering, data analysis and continuous improvement tools and methodology
Knowledge and practical experience in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and SAP
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) or other related tools
Ability to develop and deploy a disciplined approach to engineering and maintenance, with well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong planning skills, and the ability to follow-up and successfully execute plans
Continuous improvement mindset with high change agility
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, ability to influence, coach and develop colleagues not in a reporting relationship
Results oriented and ability to deliver successful outcomes
Ability to work independently across multiple sites and stakeholders, both internal and external
EQ (emotional quotient) awareness in self-management and engagement of others
Qualifications and skills
Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial or similar)
5+ years of progressive experience in engineering, reliability, maintenance or related field
Practical experience in continuous improvement methodology and tools
Food, consumer goods, chemical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience preferred
Comfortable working on the factory floor and as part of a decentralized regional team
The preferred salary range for this positions is $75.6 - $102.8 - $123.4 and an outstanding benefits package.
