    JOB SUMMARY

    The Contract Manager plays a pivotal role within the Commercial Contract Management organization, ensuring the effective implementation of contracts and pricing strategies throughout their lifecycle. This position involves leading strategic customer contract negotiations and supervising the entire contract lifecycle management process, including drafting agreements, negotiating terms and conditions, price loading, and ongoing system maintenance. Success in this role requires strong collaboration with key departments such as Marketing, Legal, Sales, HCC, and Commercial Operations to support critical company initiatives, ensure contract compliance, and drive performance.

     

    Additionally, the Contract Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and standardizing various contracting processes and templates to support the company's sales strategy. This involves creating consistent, effective templates aligned with sales goals, adaptable for multiple agreement types, and designed to streamline contract administration. The Contract Manager takes the lead in reviewing, revising, and negotiating contract terms to ensure they reflect the company’s business interests, follow legal standards, and align with strategic objectives. Working closely with key collaborators, the Contract Manager ensures the contracting process supports overall business strategies while enhancing the customer experience.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

    + Manage and lead offer and development team including responsibilities of people development, mentoring and coaching.

    + Facilitate, manage and administer the Contracting and Pricing Committee (CPC) working closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and the extended Commercial Operations team. The Contract Manager delivers program analytics, makes recommendations on program optimization, manages contract price matrixes, and drives innovation in contracts and pricing programs; pursues positive ROI through pricing discipline and ensures compliance across the entire portfolio of core breast products.

    + Manage GPO, hospital, physician, private equity and consignment contracting, process, administration of Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO), rebate strategy, price alignment, GPO and IDN roster management, contracting system development and maintenance

    + Supervise the development of SOP’s, contracting templates, and rebate strategy

    + Manages account performance by monitoring System Analytics (ADD in System name) contract compliance, contract performance goals & will engage key account director & regional sales leadership to negotiate contractual offers or changes

    + Demonstrate knowledge of internal and external contracting terms, business applications, market conditions, competitive positioning and overall industry standards

    + Support audits and compliance testing by providing information and supporting documents

    + Monitors contract management processes and identifies process improvements and optimizations.

    + Train staff on contract policies and business rules implementing process improvements for contract efficiencies

    + Maintain official documents in accordance to records and retention policies; organize records of all contracts, amendments, and supporting documents.

    + Seek continuous professional development; develop team’s goals and objectives in alignment with leadership

    + Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.

    + For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable

    + Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

    + Performs other duties assigned as needed

    EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

    + A BS/BA is required. A focus in Business, Law, Finance, or Sales & Marketing is preferred.

    + A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in Contract Management, Administration, or related business experience, ideally within Johnson & Johnson (J&J) or the medical device industry, required

    + Strong time management and administrative skills required; ability to excel in a sophisticated, deadline driven environment is required.

    + Excellent communication skills including giving presentations to executive leadership, building and maintaining relationships at all levels in the organization is required.

    + Ability to work independently and complete all business projects according to agreed upon timelines and objectives.

    + Ability to work well in a cross-functional environment and build support across a complex set of collaborators, including the ability to influence and align complex groups of stakeholders towards overall business objectives.

    + Experience within commercial organizations, collaboration with field sales’ and financial teams is preferred.

    + Experience with J&J systems, processes and support tools preferred.

    + Financial competence, an understanding of gross profit, erosion, and pricing impact

    + Experience working in a highly matrixed environment and influencing across multiple stakeholder groups with an enterprise mentality

    + Collaborative style, ability to process multiple, sophisticated and often conflicting inputs to build executable contract strategy.

    + Strong analytical skills

    + Highly effective interpersonal skills

    + Proven ability to manage through differing opinions and perspectives.

    + Innovation, challenge the status-quo, customer focused, and results oriented capabilities are a must.

    + Financial acumen, integrated collaboration, problem solving skills, strategy development, and strong communication skills are highly desired traits for this role.

    + Knowledge of contracting business processes

    + Advanced knowledge of Excel required

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

    $100,000 - $172,500

    Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

    The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
