UPMC is looking for a new Community Health Engagement, Events, and Volunteer Services Coordinator to join their team. This applicant needs to have flexibility and be able to multitask.
This position will work at Harrisburg (305 N. Front St.) 3 days a week and work at Mechanicsburg (Technology Parkway) 2 days a week. This position will also travel to all 7 hospitals for events on an as needed basis. Must have reliable transportation and be comfortable with travel.
Schedule: Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., will have to be flexible with working evenings and weekends for events. Schedule can be flexible - Applicant will work closely with manager for working hours accommodation to meet event needs.
Purpose:
This role advances UPMC's Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) initiatives, coordinates Volunteer Services volunteers at UPMC West Shore in Mechanicsburg, Pa., and supports community and corporate events to further our community benefit strategy.
Responsibilities:
+ Community Health & CHNA:
+ Coordinate, implement, and track CHNA action plans and health improvement initiatives.
+ Monitor project milestones, maintain outcome data, and prepare progress reports for leadership and the Foundation.
+ Collaborate with community partners to address priorities such as access to care, food insecurity, behavioral health, and chronic disease management.
+ Provide logistical support for Faith Community Health Connection events and spiritual care initiatives.
+ Volunteer Services Coordination at West Shore:
+ Recruit, interview, orient, and schedule adult and student volunteers at West Shore.
+ Manage day-to-day volunteer administration: training, materials distribution (mail, flowers, magazines), and performance tracking at UPMC West Shore.
+ Ensure seamless integration of volunteers into community outreach and CHNA-related activities.
+ Events and Community Relations:
+ Support planning, logistics, and execution of UPMC community and corporate events.
+ Reconcile sponsorship commitments, source venues, and coordinate timelines.
+ Represent UPMC at events and coordinate follow-up activities that are crucial partnerships supporting the CHNA.
+ Associate's degree (public health, project management, communications) required
+ Bachelor's degree preferred.
+ Experience in community engagement, volunteer coordination, or project management.
+ Strong organizational, data-tracking, and interpersonal skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
+ Flexibility for occasional evenings/weekends.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
