Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a driven Laboratory Technician to join an established medical device company in Mundelein, IL. This individual will be responsible for performing routine laboratory tests based on documented processes, documenting data and results per good documentation practices, and performing general laboratory housekeeping. They will also provide technical support and communicate scientific results.
Responsibilities:
Conduct laboratory testing on raw materials, in process, finished goods, and stability per standard operating procedures.
Maintain laboratory equipment, identify malfunctions, and perform simple repairs or can coordinate repairs as needed.
Review and update standard operating procedures.
Follow all procedures related to data documentation, laboratory safety, and good laboratory practices.
Review test data, calculations and results for accuracy and completion.
Support laboratory inventory management by ensuring all labs are adequately stocked with consumables, and that materials are properly received and released within the LIMS system.
Assist with laboratory initiatives by preparing documentation for sub cultured organisms designated for identification.
Provide support in initiating and preparing the laboratory for daily operations.

Skills and Requirements
High School Diploma or higher.
1-2+ years of working in a laboratory or related.
Must have strong initiative, a drive to solve problems, and eagerness to learn new things.
Strong time management skills, communication skills, and critical thinking skills. Preventative maintenance of refrigerators, autoclaves, microscopes, air samplers, laminar flow hoods, or biosafety cabinets.
Environmental air sampling.
Culturing, gram staining, subculturing, etc.
Inventory management.
LIMS data management.
