Job Description

Insight Global in is seeking a candidate to fill a Control Room/Plant Operator position in our DCFF Control Room, which is part of our multi-disciplinary Instrumentation and Operations team in Tallahassee, Florida. The successful candidate will join a dynamic group of control room operators, technicians, engineers, and scientists in the operation and maintenance of the DC Field Facility’s plant and electrical infrastructure in support of scientific user magnet operations. Salary ranges from $65k-$80k depending on experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing and operating equipment and systems supporting a large research facility.

• Monitoring operations, responding to alarms, and coordinating with Municipal Electrical Distribution centers

• Operating and maintaining Protection Systems.

• Provide safety training and enforce Lock, Tag, Verify procedures.

• Collaborate on safety policy development and handle emergencies with independent judgment.

• Perform engineering tasks in the Distributed Control System (DCS), including graphics, logic, and device integration.

• Assist with preventive maintenance programs and performance tracking of water-cooled magnets.

Support users, faculty, and staff with facility operations and maintenance.

Skills and Requirements

• Background in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or chemical systems

• Minimum 3 years of post-degree experience with industrial process equipment, control systems (PLCs, DCS, etc.)

• 7+ years of experience if without degree

Must be available for monthly rotating shifts, and some on call responsibility · BS in engineering

Research facility, or university system knowledge
