Job Description Summary
The Electrical Power System Integration Leader will be a key member of the RISE Systems Engineering team within GE Aerospace’s Future of Flight (Advanced Technologies) Division. This Senior Professional Engineer will be responsible for internal coordination and external interfacing to customers. The goal of the position is to drive advancements in next generation engine and aircraft architectures.

Roles and Responsibilities
As the Electrical Power System Integration Leader, you will:
+ Own iterating on system architectures, requirements, and preliminary designs for engine and aircraft electrical power systems
+ Assess, integrate, and provide feedback on customer requirements to enable an optimized engine and aircraft system
+ Utilize and direct the usage of system models across a diversity of modeling platforms and configuration management tools
+ Own effective operating rhythms (daily management and technical reviews) to coordinate a diverse team
+ Ensure a viable technology maturation plan is in place to support electrical power systems and their constituent controls
+ Drive collaboration and continuity across the Engine Systems team in considering the integration of the electrical power system
+ Develop and maintain a strong network with experts across GE Aerospace – Engines, Electrical Power, and Research
+ Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
+ Apply and define GE best practices
+ Present results to internal (GE) and external (customer, agency, government, …) customers
+ Collaborate effectively in a diverse, global, distributed work environment
•Additionally, you will be responsible to continually grow yourself, personally and professionally, through training opportunities, mentorship, and formal career path definition.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an accredited college or university
+ Minimum of 5 years' experience in the field of electrical power systems
+ Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Desired Characteristics
+ Highly motivated, self-starting, and passionate
+ Experience with electrical system modeling tools – PLECS, LTspice, Simulink, etc.
+ Experience with project management tools – MS Project, Open Plan, etc.
+ Experience with electrical power system test environments
+ Knowledge of power electronics and energy storage
+ Knowledge of thermodynamics and heat transfer
+ Demonstrated team leadership, collaboration, and facilitation skills
+ Exceptional communication skills and willingness to continually improve communication and influencing skills in distributed work environments
+ Flexible and friendly approach to working in teams
+ Keen listener and innate drive to succeed
