Job Summary
Working Title: Resuscitation Data Coordinator
Coordinates the Quality Assurance for University of Michigan Health (UMH) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Committee to ensure consistency with established policies, procedures and philosophy, and to maintain and improve the quality of care given to patients. Develops, implements and documents activities relating to CPR Committee. Maintains communications with Administration, Medical Staff and Department Heads regarding the Quality Assurance activities. Analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and make decisions related to CPR committee quality improvement efforts.

Responsibilities*
+ Evaluate strategies to support and enhance patient safety and patient outcomes within University of Michigan Health (UMH), focusing on emergency response teams: Rapid Response Teams (RRT), arrest teams, and Michigan Outpatient, Visitor, Employee (MOVE) team.
+ Assist in evaluation of quality of the emergency response and its improvement.
+ Collect data on UMH in-hospital cardiopulmonary resuscitation events and RRT events to provide adult and pediatrics, inpatient and ambulatory clinicians with feedback on their resuscitation practice and patient outcomes.
+ Implement evidence-based guidelines for in-hospital resuscitation.
+ Report findings to the CPR Committee and to the American Heart Association (AHA) Get with the guidelines (GWTG) database of in-hospital resuscitation events.
+ Participate in AHA GWTG online webinars and teleconferences.
+ Staff the UMH CPR Committee.
Required Qualifications*
+ Bachelor's degree in a clinical health care field (e.g., nursing, respiratory therapy) or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
+ Experience in health record data abstraction, database manipulation, and data analysis.
+ Extensive knowledge of BLS, ACLS, and PALS protocols.
+ Minimum five years of healthcare experience.
+ Facilitation and consensus building skills.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desired Qualifications*
+ Master's Degree in a health care field.
+ Recent experience on the Adult or Pediatric Arrest Team or Rapid Response Teams or clinical practice in an Intensive Care Unit.
+ Knowledge of process improvement frameworks (e.g., PDCA, Lean).
+ Demonstrated rapport with unit leadership across multiple UMH patient care areas.

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
