Job Summary
The staff of Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital are committed to the care of antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum people and their newborns, in an environment that supports and empowers families. Low and High Risk care is provided in a complex-care perinatal setting. Common diagnoses include normal labor and birth, surgical birth, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, cardiac disorders, preterm labor, multiple gestation, bleeding disorders, and congenital anomalies of the fetus.

Responsibilities*
Provide expert complex care coordination for patients in the labor and delivery unit with a focus on the high risk and antepartum population through individualized assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of nursing care in all clinical settings where these patients may be hospitalized.
Facilitate communication and coordination of patient care plans/needs within VVWH and across multiple settings and disciplines in all phases of perinatal care.
Design, document, monitor and evaluate individualized patient care plans for the perinatal population.
Provide clinical expert liaison and consultation across multiple inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, disciplines, and Services; plan and facilitate multidisciplinary clinical care conferences.
In collaboration with the VVWH Unit-Based Committees (UBC), Task Forces, and institutional committees (as needed), design and maintain patient education resources and programs for the perinatal population; collaborate with identified groups and educators to implement patient education protocols and processes within VVWH.
Proactively identify and collaborate in the development of clinical practice guideline/policy development and staff education needs related to new/evolving patient population conditions, treatments, and procedures.
In collaboration with the Education Nurse Coordinators, design/participate and provide inservices, continuing education programs, orientation programs, and clinical simulation drills for nursing and tech staff.
Coordinate/facilitate research related to the perinatal population.
Assist nursing leadership team to develop and implement quality and safety prevention and mitigation initiatives.
In collaboration with other clinical leadership, monitor clinical outcomes
Represent VVWH on unit, Division, Nursing, and system-wide committees as requested/directed.
Collaborate with outpatient and inpatient CCCs.
Continuity of care includes possible phone calls, clinic visits etc

Hourly range for RSAM Competent, Registered Nurses $43.10-$67.03/ hour
Evening Shift Differential-$3.00 / hour
Night Shift Differential- $4.00 / hour
Day Shift Weekend Differential- $2.90 / hour
Evening Shift Weekend Differential- $5.90 / hour
Night Shift Weekend Differential- $6.90 / hour
Charge Nurse Differential- $1.00 / hour

Actual RSAM LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
RSAM levels range from CCC-COMPETENT-NE to CCC-EXPERT-NE TO CCC-MASTERY-NE to CCC- MASTERY PLUS- NE
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period. Required Qualifications*
Required Educational Requirement; applicant must meet one of the following:
Bachelors degree in nursing OR
Associates degree or diploma in Nursing and a masters degree or higher in Nursing
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
Five (5) or more years of current experience as an RN in a high-risk inpatient L&D/LDR/ LDRP setting
Demonstrated expert knowledge of complex, high-risk perinatal and perioperative nursing with the ability to anticipate and plan for clinical needs
Successful completion of the AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring course within the last 3 years.
Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring
Current Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing and Inpatient Antepartum Nursing through NCC with one year of start
Training or classroom experience.

Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the preparation, use, and troubleshooting of Microsoft Office applications
Demonstrated ability to accept direction related to assignments and priorities.

Collaborate with outpatient and inpatient CCCs.

Work Schedule
Hours/week: 40, 5 8-hour shifts (20% clinical, at least 1 shift/week in direct patient care)
Shift/Hours/Days: Day shift Monday through Friday 0800-1630, One shift 0700-1530 on the floor. Some rare weekend workrequired.
