Novant Health is hiring a Pharmacy Regulatory Specialist for Drug Enforcement Administration!
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8a - 5p - Remote (within our approved hiring footprint)
The Pharmacy Regulatory Specialist for Drug Enforcement Administration is responsible for working with Compliance leaders to:
(1) Maintain accreditation, certification and regulatory compliance and survey activities in conjunction with the Pharmacy Compliance & Regulatory team through maintaining continuous readiness structures and key relationships with pharmacy leaders.
(2) Interpret regulations and identify compliance requirements and risks.
(3) Audit, monitor, and investigate compliance with applicable regulations. Collaborate with pharmacy leaders to develop applicable action plans to close regulatory and compliance risks.
(4) Use independent judgment and higher level of critical thinking to analyze and apply applicable regulations to different questions, projects, or inquiries.
(5) Communicate strategic business decisions to applicable regulatory agencies and pharmacy leadership teams (verbal and written).
(6) Collaborate with business partners to review or draft policy language to reflect compliance.
(7) Create program materials to support compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
(8) Partner with senior pharmacy leaders to manage pharmacy permits (i.e., new applications, renewals, closures).
Qualifications
+ Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. Pharmacy technology or healthcare related field. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Pharmacy technology or healthcare related field.
+ Experience: 3 years pharmacy technician experience in DEA regulations and state board of pharmacy regulations, required. 3 years applicable compliance or accreditation & regulatory experience (i.e., surveillance audits, investigations, action plans), required.
+ Licensure/Certification:
+ Current registration with applicable State Board(s) of Pharmacy, required.
+ Certified pharmacy technician, required.
+ Controlled Substance Diversion Certificate or obtained within 90-days, required.
+ Regulatory Compliance Certificate or obtained within 90-days, required.
+ Additional Skills (required): The Pharmacy Regulatory Specialist for Drug Enforcement Administration, Pharmacy Licensing has:
+ Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
+ Advanced knowledge of federal and state controlled substance regulations and state board of pharmacy requirements.
+ Advanced knowledge, skills, and abilities regarding researching regulations and standards, understanding operations as they interface with the area of expertise and compliance program requirements.
+ Intermediate knowledge, skills, and abilities regarding analytical skills, auditing, and communicating in a manner that reduces risk.
+ Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft applications, and other applications required for area of expertise.
+ Ability to drive/travel to multiple locations/facilities.
