Facility : East Cooper Medical Center
Location : Mount Pleasant, SC
Department : Obstetrics
Position Type : Full Time (36 hours)
Work Schedule : Three 12- hour shifts, Nights
Responsibilities
+ Coordinate clerical and public relations functions for the unit
+ Serve as unit receptionist, greeting and directing visitors
+ Manage patient services and test scheduling with ancillary hospital departments
+ Accurately transcribe physician orders for assigned patients
+ Collaborate with the healthcare team and provide customer-focused support
+ Deliver quality administrative work according to hospital standards and policies
+ Must be flexible and willing to float to other comparable units as needed
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma Required
Education in basic office procedures Preferred
Experience: Two years of administrative support experience Required
Healthcare administrative support experience Preferred
Additional Skills Required:
+ Ability to effectively communicate with physicians and hospital staff. Ability to use a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc., to produce correspondence and documents and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases; Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
+ Communication: Creates an environment that supports and respects diversity to promote creative problem solving. Communicates the value of activities within the organization and community to gain cooperation and collaborative partnership.
+ Customer Service: Holds staff accountable for customer service standards and ensures service recovery when needed. Ensures staff responds to customers in a timely manner.

+ Digital Fluency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, specifically Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint.
