Automation Engineer | Pontiac, Michigan

Kelly Engineering is seeking an Automation Engineer to support our client’s production team through robot programming, tooling and fixture design, and automation documentation.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Write, modify, and document robot programs

+ Design and build robot cell fixturing and end-of-arm tooling (EOAT)

+ Simulate and optimize robot systems to meet cycle time goals

+ Develop and maintain technical and procedural documentation

+ Program and integrate PLCs, robots, motion, and vision systems

+ Configure robot zones, I/O, and PLC communication

QUALIFICATIONS

+ Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience

+ Independent and collaborative work style with strong motivation and initiative

+ Creative problem-solver with strong people skills

+ Ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics

+ Experience with ABB robots, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley controls, HMIs, and vision systems

+ Proficient in PLC troubleshooting and robotic path teaching

+ RobotStudio and SolidWorks proficiency strongly preferred
