    Job Summary

    The Respiratory Therapist Lead - Certified oversees and coordinates the Respiratory Therapy department's daily activities, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with healthcare standards. The Lead provides advanced respiratory care to patients, assists in developing departmental policies, and serves as a resource for other respiratory therapists. This role is responsible for mentoring staff, supporting clinical education, and ensuring that equipment and procedures meet regulatory requirements.

    Essential Functions

    + Leads the daily operations of the respiratory therapy team, providing guidance, scheduling, and support as needed.

    + Administers advanced respiratory treatments, performs assessments, and monitors patient responses to ensure effective care.

    + Assists in developing, implementing, and reviewing respiratory therapy protocols, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory standards.

    + Serves as a resource and mentor for respiratory therapy staff, providing education, support, and training as needed.

    + Evaluates and maintains respiratory therapy equipment, ensuring proper functioning, cleanliness, and adherence to safety standards.

    + Coordinates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care and effective respiratory therapy support.

    + Participates in quality improvement initiatives, monitoring key performance indicators to enhance patient outcomes and improve respiratory care practices.

    + Supports onboarding, training, and skills development of respiratory team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable work environment.

    + Performs other duties as assigned.

    + Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

    + Complies with all policies and standards.

    Qualifications

    + 4-6 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist required

    + 0-1 years Prior experience in a lead or team resource role preferred

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    + Proficient knowledge of respiratory therapy principles, techniques, and equipment.

    + Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques, equipment, and regulatory standards.

    + Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and support a team.

    + Leadership skills to serve as a resource and support to the respiratory therapy team without direct supervisory responsibilities.

    + Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills for patient care in complex clinical situations.

    + Effective communication and collaboration skills to interact with healthcare providers and patients.

    + Problem-solving skills to address clinical and operational issues promptly.

    + Organizational skills to manage equipment, schedules, and team support functions.

    Licenses and Certifications

    + CRT - Certified Respiratory Therapist required

    + BCLS - Basic Life Support required

    + ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred
