Position Responsibilities
Pine Technical and Community College (PTCC) is seeking a Dean of Industry and Applied Professional Programs to lead a diverse portfolio of high-impact academic programs that prepare students for success in today’s workforce. This leadership role is essential to advancing PTCC’s mission of delivering innovative, industry-aligned education that meets regional and state demands.
This position manages faculty, staff, and budgets within the following academic programs: Applied Engineering, Automated Systems Technology, Automotive Technology, Business, Construction Technology, Cybersecurity, Emergency Medical Services, Gunsmithing and Firearms Technology, Management Information Systems, Network Administration, Precision Machining Technology, and Welding Technology.
The Dean of Industry and Applied Professional Programs provides strategic direction, oversight, and continuous improvement across technical and professional disciplines, ensuring alignment with industry standards, accreditation requirements, and the college’s mission.

**Salary Range:** $81,034 - $130,095 annual base
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ Minimum of five years of experience in higher education or related field
+ Evidence of excellent interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
+ Ability to manage multiple diverse and competing initiatives through to completion
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master’s degree in related field
+ Demonstrated experience in academic administration, curriculum development, and personnel management
+ Knowledge of accreditation standards
+ Experience working within a unionized environment
Key Responsibilities Include:
+ Provide strategic and supervisory leadership for technical and professional academic programs, ensuring alignment with workforce needs and college priorities
+ Oversee academic scheduling, curriculum development, and instructional delivery across assigned programs
+ Supervise and evaluate faculty and staff; lead recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes
+ Manage departmental budgets and allocate resources to support program goals and student success
+ Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, industry certifications, and Minnesota State policies
+ Collaborate with faculty to develop new programs and revise existing ones based on labor market data
+ Build and maintain partnerships with industry leaders, employers, and advisory committees
+ Support student success initiatives, including recruitment, retention, and career readiness
+ Coordinate with continuing education and workforce development teams to expand credit and non-credit offerings
+ Represent the college in regional workforce development efforts, community events, and statewide initiatives
+ Promote inclusive teaching practices and equitable access for diverse student populations
+ Assist the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs with strategic planning, policy development, and implementation of college-wide initiatives
+ Participate in Minnesota State system projects, college committees, and cross-functional collaborations
+ Advocate for the value of technical and applied education in internal and external forums
