    Your New Role…

    This position is responsible for meticulously preparing digital artwork files to ensure they are acceptable for print and digital publishing. This includes handling art, lettering, color corrections, file formatting, art restoration, and quality checks to safeguard the artwork’s integrity.

    Your Role Accountabilities…

    • Receive and confirm art files for Print and Digital publishing of Original Material, Collected Editions, and other projects. Complete art and lettering adjustments with respect to the artist, medium, and art style. Perform thorough quality checks to identify potential issues like color space, missing fonts, incorrect bleed settings, low resolution images, and inconsistencies before sending files to the content execution team.

    • Create dummy book layouts for Print and Digital publishing of Original Material, Collected Editions, and other projects. Complete art and lettering adjustments that may have been missed in the original art review stage as well as any layout edits that are required. Upon approval move project to the content execution team.

    • Create cover layouts, editorial, and interior book pages for weekly Print and Digital Periodicals following DC’s style guides. Furnish approved pages to content execution for inclusion within the individual titles.

    • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to file formats, color profiles, and format compatibility. In cases where file concerns are determined, ensure that the art and color quality are maintained through the restoration process for the art.

    • Under the guidance of senior production artists, create limited-edition print products, NFT variants, digital trading cards, and collectible assets. Utilize creative artistic skills to enhance art to reflect industry standards of uniqueness and rarity.

    • Assist content execution team with the upload of Periodicals, Collected Editions, OGNs, and Backlist Reprints for approval to print and digitally publish.

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications & Experience…

    Work Experience

    • At least five (5) years of experience in art/digital art, prepress, or production (print and/or digital) in a publishing environment required.

    Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.

    • Related degree from an accredited art school is preferred.

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully (both verbally and in writing) with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization, as well as with external stakeholders (such as vendors.)

    • Must have the ability to successfully work in a team environment and interact with other people.

    • Must have the ability to organize, work well under time constraints, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks and project elements simultaneously.

    • Must have the ability to pay close attention to details and handle confidential material.

    • Must have the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and find creative solutions to complex production challenges.

    • Must have strong drawing skills (portfolio review required.)

    • Knowledge of production for print and digital products is required. A deep understanding of Adobe color space management and utilization for digital publishing as well as CMYK print processes is strongly preferred.

    • Proficiency using Microsoft Office software (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Adobe Creative Cloud software (such as Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign) required.

    • Proficiency using Wacom equipment strongly preferred.

    • Familiarity with comic book art and the various stages of comic book art development (pencils, inks, coloring, lettering) is strongly preferred.

    • Understanding of how consumers read comic books and can translate the reading experience to a digital format is strongly preferred.

    Other Requirements

    • Must be able to travel as needed approximately 5% of the time.

    In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $45,500.00 - $84,500.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
