Job Summary and Qualifications
As the Senior Mergers & Acquisition Analyst, you will play a key role in advancing HCA’s Corporate Development strategy by supporting all phases of transaction management and execution. You will partner closely with HCA senior management, division leadership, and executives from external organizations—including CEOs and CFOs—to evaluate, structure, and execute complex healthcare transactions.
Position Summary
You will be responsible for developing and analyzing comprehensive financial models, performing due diligence, coordinating cross-functional teams, and preparing materials that guide executive decision-making. This role requires exceptional analytical ability, communication skills, and the capacity to manage multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic, high-impact environment.
Key Responsibilities:
+ **Financial Modeling & Valuation:** Develop and maintain complex Excel-based financial models to assess valuations and support strategic recommendations for potential acquisitions and divestitures.
+ **Strategic Analysis & Communication:** Prepare detailed materials and presentations for senior management and division leadership, summarizing strategic rationale, key assumptions, and financial implications. Facilitate alignment among stakeholders with differing perspectives.
+ **Due Diligence Management:** Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary due diligence teams—both internal and external—ensuring efficient communication, accurate data collection, and thorough issue resolution.
+ **Financial & Operational Review:** Analyze financial statements, operating statistics, and due diligence data to identify risks, trends, and opportunities that impact transaction value.
+ **Transaction Execution:** Prepare and review financial schedules for definitive agreements, support negotiation processes, and participate in post-closing settlement analyses.
+ **Process Improvement:** Contribute to post-transaction “Post-Mortem” reviews to enhance the due diligence and integration process.
+ **Ongoing Oversight:** Monitor and follow up on delivery of monthly financial statements from active acquisition targets or divestiture entities.
+ **Research & Special Projects:** Conduct targeted research and financial analyses as requested by Corporate Development leadership.
+ **Collaboration & Leadership:** Serve as a key liaison among corporate resources, outside advisors, and legal counsel to ensure successful transaction execution and issue resolution.
+ **Professional Development:** Pursue ongoing professional education through seminars, workshops, and industry affiliations to stay current on best practices in healthcare finance and M&A.
+ **Ethics & Compliance:** Adhere to HCA’s Code of Conduct and embody the organization’s Mission and Values Statement in all professional interactions.
Qualifications
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
+ CPA and/or CFA Level I certification strongly preferred.
Experience:
+ Minimum 5 years of general experience and 2 years of relevant experience, including a healthcare company company, investment bank, public accounting firm, or equivalent combination.
+ Demonstrated experience in valuation, financial modeling, and transaction execution required.
Skills & Competencies:
+ Advanced proficiency in Excel-based financial modeling
+ Strong understanding of valuation methodologies and financial analysis
+ Knowledge of healthcare financial terminology and operating metrics
+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex concepts to senior audiences
+ Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
+ Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and professional judgment
+ Collaborative team player with demonstrated leadership in cross-functional settings
