Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose
This position will provide direction over the resources and processes that support patient drug assistance and patient drug copay assistance programs. Activities include patient identification and enrollment, compliance with program rules and applicable laws, and posting of copayments in applicable financial systems. The scope of responsibility will include the ambulatory and infusion locations across the BJC acute HSOs.
Responsibilities
+ Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
+ Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
+ Work with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. drug companies, BJC Finance, BJC Rev Cycle, BJC Compliance, etc.) to provide guidance on issues and questions and pertain to the work unit.
+ Identify key changes to program requirements and communicate to team promptly to minimize potential delays of care and/or financial burden to the patient. Ensuring correct procedures are in place and are being followed to obtain current patient financial and insurance status.
+ Coordinates with pharmacy personnel to ensure staff adheres to policies and procedures related to pharmaceutical procurement and receiving processes.
+ Ensures staff maintains compliant billing practices for patients receiving benefit from patient assistance programs and that copayments are processed in financial systems appropriately.
+ BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
