Director, Accounting Automation & Transformation

The Director of Accounting Automation and Transformation is a strategic leader responsible for driving the modernization of accounting operations through automation, process optimization, and digital transformation. This role will lead cross-functional initiatives to streamline workflows, enhance data integrity, and improve operational efficiency across the accounting function. The ideal candidate combines deep accounting expertise with a passion for innovation and technology.

Key Tasks

Develop and execute a multi-year roadmap for accounting automation and transformation aligned with enterprise goals.

Champion a culture of continuous improvement and digital innovation within the accounting organization.

Identify and prioritize opportunities for automation (e.g., RPA, AI, machine learning) across accounting processes such as journal entries, reconciliations, close cycles, and reporting.

Lead the design and implementation of automated workflows and intelligent solutions to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.

Partner with IT and finance systems teams to evaluate, select, and implement automation tools and platforms.

Oversee integration of automation solutions with ERP systems and other financial technologies.

Collaborate with accounting, finance, and business unit leaders to ensure alignment and adoption of transformation initiatives.

Develop training programs and communication strategies to support change management and user adoption.

Ensure automation initiatives comply with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.

Monitor performance metrics and KPIs to assess impact and drive continuous improvement.

Your Background

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field

10+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in transformation or automation leadership

Proven track record of leading large-scale process improvement and automation initiatives

Strong understanding of ERP systems (e.g., D36d, AX, SAP, Oracle, Workday) and automation tools (e.g., UiPath, Alteryx, Power Automate)

Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills

Ability to influence and collaborate across functions and levels
