POSITION DETAILS
The Dean of Student Affairs, reporting to theSr. VP for Academic Affairs and Provost,directs all student support services and campus life programs at the College. They are responsible for creating a positive and supportive learning environment, addressing student concerns, and ensuring students have access to resources that foster their academic and personal growth. The Dean of Student Affairs is responsible for the leadership, vision, strategic planning and management of all student support programs. The position is required to have extensive collegial and collaborative relationships with students, administrators, faculty and staff within the College, CUNY and to interact successfully with a number of outside constituencies such as employers; faculty and staff of high schools and baccalaureate institutions; and members of the community. The incumbent is expected execute and document initiatives and activities that contribute to the retention and success of students.
Budget
Manage and monitor all budget allocations and expenditures for all Student Affairs programs including CUNY, City, Research Foundation, federal, local, and private grants:
+ Ensure that Student Affairs departments manages funding allocation within the College’s financial constraints as stipulated by the President, VP of Finance, and Provost
+ Conduct monthly reconciliation/review of department allocations, encumbrances, budget modification and expenditures
+ Approve budget modifications
+ Serve as Principal Investigator for federal and local grants as requested
Student Success Initiatives
Coordinate and implement various Student Success Initiatives, including:
+ Oversee the Implementation of scholarships/stipends for current students in collaboration with College Advancement and the Executive Director of Student Affairs
+ Amend and implement mission and vision of Student Success Services via continued assessment and quality improvement
+ Overseeall orientation and engagement events
+ Participate in various national, regional, CUNY, and college meetings to develop, implement and evaluate various student success initiatives
+ Represent Kingsborough Community College through various national, regional, and CUNY student success initiatives including serving a Board Member for Community College Division of NASPA and NY State Jobs Linkages
Disaster Relief
+ Serve as Kingsborough’s point person for disaster relief as related to student needs - fund raising and CUNY-based programs to support students in emergency situations
+ **Coordinate and document all student complaints and grievances**
+ Collaborate with Academic Affairs, IT Support, Enrollment Management, Finance and Administration, and College Advancement to ensure all students concerns are addressed
+ Work collaboratively with Public Safety to maintain safety and compliance
+ Serve as a representative on committee and for Student Affairs events as requested by the Provost
Oversight and Compliance
Provide leadership and oversight to all departments and activities within the division of Student Affairs, including programming, outreach efforts, and the direct supervision of the directors of:
+ Men’s Resource Center
+ Conduct Office/Community Standards
+ Student Wellness Services – Counseling Center, Health Center, Wellness Center, and Women’s Center
+ Services for specific student populations - Access-Ability, TRIO Services,Access Resource Center, and CUNY Edge
+ Student Life and SGA, including mandatory trainings (KCC and CUNY) for designated student groups
+ Oversee all budget allocations, auditing, and compliance for the Child Development Center, Athletics, Military and Veteran’s Affairs, and KCC Association and Auxiliary
+ Manage and approve the expenditures and programming for the Student Union and Intercultural Center
QUALIFICATIONS
This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience. Additional qualifications are defined below by the College.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in counseling and disability services to foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment.

$150,000 - $175,000
