The HR Operations & Benefits Coordinator, CHPA (Children’s Hospital Pediatric Associates) plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day functions of the Foundation’s Human Resources Department. This position is responsible for administering employee benefits, managing onboarding processes, maintaining accurate employee records, processing monthly billing, supporting payroll operations, coordinating leave of absence workflows, and managing complex HRIS transactions. The Coordinator serves as a key resource for employees and partners closely with HR, Payroll, and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
This position has an onsite requirement of 3 days each week.
Key Responsibilities
+ Administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations; ensure proper processing through payroll and insurance providers for accurate record-keeping and deductions.
+ Maintain CHPA employee databases and prepare reports and analytics to support departmental and organizational needs.
+ Provide day-to-day benefits administration and serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and claim resolution.
+ Partner with Payroll to maintain and reconcile the payroll database and accurately administer PFML-related payments.
+ Coordinate and conduct CHPA faculty new hire orientation sessions and lead Open Enrollment seminars each fall.
+ Manage vendor payments, including preparing and submitting check requests and wire transfers for recurring invoices (e.g., Parking, Daycare, Medical/Dental, Life Insurance, Workers’ Compensation).
+ Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, DOL, Workers’ Compensation, and OSHA requirements.
+ Represent CHPA in HR-related meetings and events, and participate in staff meetings, seminars, and other activities as needed.
+ Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, encompassing a broad scope of responsibilities and data management.
+ Healthcare experience preferred.
+ Solid understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and experience with database management and record keeping.
+ Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
+ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
+ Flexible, collaborative, and comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders.
