Position Summary
The Practice Manager, Primary Care Oxford, is responsible for the overall management and coordination of daily operations within the practice. This includes oversight of staff, registration, scheduling, billing accuracy, compliance, and patient experience. The role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple specialties and priorities with accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
+ Oversee daily practice operations and staff task coordination.
+ Provide management oversight for registration and scheduling to ensure accurate patient demographic and insurance collection.
+ Establish quality control measures to ensure correct billing information and clean claims submission.
+ Develop and maintain a staffing competency program.
+ Deliver excellent customer service through problem-solving, timely follow-up, assisting with phones, and scheduling appointments.
+ Prepare and submit employee payroll in coordination with payroll services.
+ Assist with reviewing vendor contracts and invoices, and coordinate with bookkeeping as needed.
+ Support the practice compliance program, including JCAHO and Rural Health standards.
+ Orient new staff and locum physicians to the practice.
+ Manage staff schedules, including physicians, ensuring coverage for multiple specialties.
+ Step in to cover shifts when staffing issues arise.
Required Skills and Knowledge
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
+ Strong communication, customer service, and conflict resolution skills.
+ Excellent troubleshooting, time management, and organizational abilities.
+ Knowledge of insurance processes and medical terminology.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
+ Understanding of credentialing processes and ability to support coordination.
+ Proficiency in ICD-9 and CPT coding.
+ Familiarity with Allscripts practice management system and electronic health records (EHR) preferred.
+ Familiarity with Rural Health Clinic (RHC) standards is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Associate’s degree in medical management preferred.
+ At least two years of medical office management experience required.
+ Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in daily practice operations in alignment with GHS policies and procedures.
+ Broad experience in all aspects of medical office administration.
