Our compassionate, highly skilled emergency veterinary team provides after-hours and urgent care services for pets, with plans to expand to 24/7 emergency and critical care in the near future.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Client Patient Liaison (CPL) to join our Emergency Department. This is a non-clinical, client-facing role ideal for candidates who excel in fast-paced, high-stress environments and are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service to pet owners during emergency situations.
You will serve as the primary communication link between clients and our veterinary medical team — ensuring a smooth, empathetic, and transparent experience from intake through discharge.
Key Responsibilities
+ Client Communication: Act as the first point of contact for emergency clients; provide timely updates, guidance, and emotional support throughout their pet’s care.
+ Patient Flow Coordination: Collaborate with veterinary technicians, assistants, and ER veterinarians to manage patient flow and ensure seamless communication between teams.
+ Customer Service Excellence: Deliver empathetic, professional, and efficient service during emotionally charged situations.
+ Documentation: Accurately record client communications and patient status updates in our veterinary practice management software (PIMS/EMR).
+ Billing & Estimates: Present treatment estimates, process client payments, and assist with pet insurance and billing inquiries.
+ Non-Clinical Triage Support: Direct urgent or critical cases to clinical staff immediately to ensure timely veterinary attention.
+ Team Collaboration: Partner with veterinary staff to support client education, case updates, and hospital flow.
Qualifications
+ Previous experience in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, or emergency animal care setting preferred
+ Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
+ Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
+ Familiarity with veterinary practice management software (Cornerstone, AVImark, ezyVet, or similar) is a plus
+ Empathetic, professional, and team-oriented approach
+ Must be available for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts
