AAA is hiring for a Director, Corporate Communications to join our team! This position is responsible for directing and overseeing the organization’s communication function; executing communication strategies designed to disseminate corporate information or message building; and enhancing AAA Club Alliance’s identity, reputation and image among internal and external stakeholders.
The Director develops the annual communication plan as well as supporting programs and materials to achieve favorable consideration of the company’s vision and mission, business goals and objectives. Our ideal candidate will have experience with leveraging technology and data, and will serve as the central point of contact for all corporate-level communication to assure overall coordination and drive a higher level of associate understanding, engagement and alignment across the company that creates a dynamic culture fostering teamwork and transparency.

*The base pay range shown is a guideline for compensation and ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Develops and implements a corporate communications strategy and annual plan to increase associate understanding, awareness and acceptance of the company’s vision and mission, brand strategy, strategic direction, business objectives, key initiatives and major programs.
+ Defines performance metrics and measures the success of specific communications or campaigns.
+ Collaborates and partners with the Executive Team to communicate progress against organizational drivers, goals and objectives through multiple channels—interpersonal, digital, social, and print. Consults and assists with reports, meetings, presentations and speeches.
+ Consults and partners with senior leaders to engage associates and to share progress against individual business goals and objectives through various channels including leadership forums, town hall meetings, executive roundtable lunches, operational update videos, company-wide Intranet, email, and print. Directs the generation of online content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action.
+ Oversees all corporate-level communication including content and distribution to assure consistency and strategic alignment. Also provides communication oversight to company activities such as Wellness Committee and Corporate Social Responsibility/Volunteerism programs.
+ Collaborates with Marketing to clearly establish and reinforce AAA Club Alliance’s image and brand among business line leaders, ensuring consistency and alignment with the company’s overall communications objectives and standards, both internal and external
+ Leads, directs, supervises and mentors a team of corporate communications professionals; also recruit, hire, train and develop associates for the team as needed. Provides guidance and support to line of business newsletter communication teams.
+ Partners with Public and Government Affairs on public-facing enterprise communications such as press releases and corporate content on the Internet (About Us page).
+ Creates audience-specific resources such as communications toolkits, talking points, Q&As, meeting content and personal coaching to assist local managers, supervisors and team leaders in effectively cascading key information throughout the company.
+ Produces and distributes company-wide printed and digital communications materials as needed.
+ Manages, utilizes and leverages the company-wide Intranet site as a key channel for corporate communications and associate engagement. This includes overseeing the development and execution of strategy, processes and content.
+ Partners with Human Resources and Communications to expand associate communications in areas such as talent and performance management, learning and development, and other programs that impact associates and their families.
+ Conducts periodic surveys among stakeholders, both internal and external to assess the overall effectiveness of the company’s corporate communications.
+ Provides content for the AAA National publications, Hotsheet, as needed.
+ Assists in the selection and implementation of communications-related tools or infrastructure.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Communications or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
+ 10+ years of experience in communications or related field, preferably in a corporate setting
+ 5+ years’ management/leadership experience.
+ Superior written and oral communications skills
+ Solid understanding of brand principles and practices
+ Cross platform computer skills (PC & MAC) combined with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Photo Shop, Illustrator and other graphic design software applications is desirable
+ Knowledge of layout and design practices
+ Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to build relationships and work effectively with associates at all levels of the company and to interact confidently with senior leaders.
+ Ability to direct and manage freelance writers and designers as well as outside agencies and suppliers
+ Excellent project management skills combined with an ability to work on a variety of projects concurrently, especially in a demanding environment under tight deadlines
+ Ability to conceptualize and deliver digital content via the company-wide Intranet site combined with experience in social media.
+ Solid understanding and experience in budgeting, bid process, pre-press and print.
+ Skillful at interacting with senior leaders in developing and influencing communication strategies and plans; experience with crisis communication preferred.
+ Mature, creative and sensitive professional with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
