Job Description:

Responsible for observation and supportive care to an assigned patient to assure a safe and nurturing environment for those patients who may be deemed as a potential safety risk. Work Experience Previous experience in caring for patients or equivalent experience in a similar setting preferred, or the ability to demonstrate achievement of unit specific competencies.

Education Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities:

+ Provide continuous observation of assigned patients to ensure their safety and prevent self-harm or injury.

+ Communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding the patient’s condition, behavior, and any concerns.

+ Assist patients with non-clinical needs, such as companionship, emotional support, and basic comfort measures.

+ Follow hospital or facility protocols to maintain a safe environment for the patient.

+ Notify nursing staff immediately of any changes in the patient’s condition or behavior.

+ Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

+ Document observations and interactions as required by facility policies.

+ Support the healthcare team by fostering a calm and positive environment for the patient.
