2nd Shift (2:00pm - 10:30pm)
Role Purpose: Performs dynamic and static tests in accordance to government regulations, regulatory body specifications and manufacturing requirements. Dynamic tests are performed using free falling impact probes, accelerometers, load cells, displacement transducers and PC based data acquisition systems. Repairs electrical, mechanical, electromechanical equipment for conformance to established standards, and assists in formulating testing and work standards.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
+ Plans sequence of testing and certification procedures for instruments (crash test dummies) and equipment.
+ Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and certify other instruments and test equipment.
+ Input data information and utilize data acquisition systems to perform system checks and data collection for ATDs.
+ Disassembles instruments and equipment and inspects components for defects.
+ Measures parts for conformity with specifications.
+ Aligns, repairs, replaces, and balances component parts.
+ Reassembles and certifies instruments and equipment.
+ Assists engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment.
+ Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in-group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
+ Technical Skills - Assesses own strengths and weaknesses; pursues training and development opportunities; Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills; shares expertise with others.
Education and/or Experience: One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
