Overview
The Inpatient Prescription Assistance Specialist provides prescription assistance for patients discharging from Carle Foundation Hospital and works closely with pharmacists, social work, and patient care teams.
Qualifications
Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician Not Required - Student Pharmacist or Licensed before 1/1/2008 - Exempt/Not Required; Certified Pharmacy Technician within 2 years of license issue date (IL) - Varies; Licensed Pharmacy Technician within 60 days of license application - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR), Education: , Work Experience: Related field
Responsibilities
Assesses patient situation for potential prescription assistance needs and provides appropriate resources, including: coupons, copay cards, 340b discount program, and pharmaceutical assistance programs.
Submits prescription prior authorizations to health insurance providers as needed.
Follows One Time Prescription Assistance Protocol.
Contacts community agencies, insurance companies an pharmacies to gather information and coordinate efforts.
Communicates to the patient and care team the plan for prescription assistance.
Documents interactions and work completed in EPIC per CM107 documentation policy.
Collaborates with RN Care Coordinator, Social Work, pharmacists, and care team to develop a plan of care related to prescription assistance for discharging the patient.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $17.33per hour - $28.07per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
