    We are seeking a dedicated Architect to join our team, where you will play a vital role in reviewing construction documents and costs, monitoring ongoing construction projects, and assisting senior staff with property condition surveys. This position involves travel to various job sites monthly and offers an opportunity to apply your architecture knowledge in a practical way. Our projects span multi-family, office, industrial, hotel, and retail sectors, with construction values ranging from $10 to $100 million.

    Responsibilities

    + Review construction documents and costs.

    + Monitor ongoing construction projects.

    + Review contractor payment applications.

    + Assist senior staff with property condition surveys.

    + Travel to job sites monthly to oversee projects.

    + Lead construction administration on core and shell projects.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in construction administration.

    + Proven ability in project management.

    + Expertise in architecture and construction documentation.

    + 8-10 years of relevant experience.

    + Licensed Architect or nearing licensure.

    + Ability to lead construction administration on core and shell projects.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Degree in Architecture.

    + Background in multi-family and affordable housing projects is highly preferred.

    + Strong writing skills, with the ability to provide writing samples demonstrating problem diagnosis and solution formulation.

    + Willingness to travel to job sites monthly.

    Work Environment

    Join a national Architectural and Engineering consulting firm with a respected professional reputation in physical due diligence and construction consulting on commercial real estate development projects. This role involves approximately 50% travel, primarily to Midwestern cities and occasionally from Denver to the East Coast, usually during the last and first weeks of the month. The team comprises 24 employees nationwide, with the main office in Chicago and remote employees in LA, Portland, Honolulu, NC, and Nashville, as well as a physical office in New York (Soho). Work is primarily on-site when not traveling and involves projects with construction costs ranging from $10M to $100M.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, Illinois.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.87 - $45.67/hr.
