Join our team as a Formulation Technician where you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing of high-quality nutraceuticals and dietary supplements. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining capsulation machines, ensuring all products meet rigorous quality standards.
Responsibilities
+ Perform set-up, sanitation, operation, and routine maintenance of capsulation machines.
+ Clean machines, related equipment, and work areas after each batch and at the end of the day using water, solvents, and other cleaning aids.
+ Ensure capsulation machines and areas are sanitary at all times and report any sanitation issues to the supervisor.
+ Conduct Hygiena swab tests on machinery after cleaning.
+ Complete all necessary cleaning logs.
+ Review line and adjacent areas to ensure cleanliness and that nothing obstructs the product or machinery.
+ Read work orders and Master Manufacturing Records to determine production specifications.
+ Pour, scoop, or dump specified mixtures into machine sections prior to starting machines.
+ Adjust machine components to regulate speeds, pressures, and temperatures, and ensure product specifications are met.
+ Perform test runs to ensure equipment is set up properly.
+ Examine, measure, weigh, or test sample capsules to ensure conformance to specifications.
+ Clean, oil, and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment as necessary.
+ Count and record finished and rejected items.
+ Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of capsules.
+ Sort, grade, weigh, and inspect capsules, adjusting product weight or measurement as needed.
+ Inspect and remove defective capsules.
+ Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
+ Record and maintain production data such as meter readings and quantities, types, dimensions, and number of capsules produced.
+ Clean storage containers and racks to prepare for finished capsule storage.
+ Transfer completed capsules from machines to drying or storage areas using handcarts or storage containers.
+ Ensure completed capsules in pans or storage containers are covered at all times.
+ Conduct ongoing assessments of quality control and operational procedures.
+ Meet or exceed production goals and guidelines for the product being run.
Essential Skills
+ 1 to 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

+ Knowledge of production processes and quality control techniques.
+ Versatility, flexibility, and enthusiasm for working within changing priorities.
+ Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.

+ Physical ability to perform necessary labor tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Work Environment
The position is based in a warehouse where temperatures may vary from cool to hot, and noise levels can range from moderate to high. The role requires wearing common protective gear such as gloves, face masks, hairnets, and uniforms. Employees must be capable of walking, kneeling, bending, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Use of hand trucks, forklifts, and pallet jacks may be necessary. The environment involves exposure to small particles and odors.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Livermore, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
