    Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

    Job Description

    The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist will support, develop, and enhance EHS compliance and risk management processes. This role involves driving understanding and engagement to improve EHS performance, influencing leadership, and integrating EHS into daily operations. The specialist will execute EHS compliance programs and be accountable for implementing environmental, health, and safety programs, tools, and standards in line with global EHS policies.

     

    Shift

     

    Day shift M-F

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct investigations of working conditions to prevent occupational diseases and industrial health hazards.

    + Promote EHS awareness throughout the organization through effective employee communications and participation.

    + Serve as the key point of contact for safety and environmental issues.

    + Support regulated waste management, including consolidation and inspections.

    + Conduct compliance tasks such as stormwater sampling, waste inspections, chemical inventory, and life safety audits.

    + Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and customer requirements.

    + Support and conduct EHS audits, develop action plans to resolve findings, and implement countermeasures promptly and effectively.

    + Perform risk assessments related to jobs and new processes and equipment.

    + Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics for reporting to onsite management and corporate reporting systems.

    + Support management efforts to ensure compliance with corporate program expectations and applicable federal and state laws.

    + Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures for ergonomics.

    + Establish and manage the safety committee.

    + Drive continual improvement efforts to reduce site safety and environmental risk.

    + Support site stand-up meetings, safety committees, and floor inspections.

    Essential Skills

    + 6+ years of experience in EHS support, especially in warehousing.

    + Bachelor’s degree or higher in industrial hygiene, occupational health, environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field or relevant experience.

    + Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910.

    + Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity.

    + Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues.

    + CIH certification.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Knowledge of EHS regulations.

    + Risk assessment skills.

    + Manufacturing plant experience.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Long term Consultant position based out of Northridge, CA

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
