    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist for a traditional phlebotomy role. This position involves significant processing, centrifuging, and splitting of specimens, while maintaining high customer service standards. The role requires entering data into the LabCorp Touch system and managing orders independently. The primary focus will be on blood draws, comprising 70% of the job responsibilities.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform venipunctures and collect blood samples on patients of all ages.

    + Process and ship specimens while ensuring accuracy in data entry and patient information confirmation.

    + Enter orders and manage data in the LabCorp Touch system.

    + Provide excellent customer service and liaise with doctor offices as needed.

    + Maintain cleanliness and restock the phlebotomy station.

    + Handle around 120 draws daily in a busy patient service center.

    + Work collaboratively with another phlebotomist.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in phlebotomy, including blood draw and venipuncture.

    + Experience with centrifuges.

    + Strong data entry skills.

    + Customer service capabilities.

    + Experience with medical records.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + At least one year of active phlebotomy experience is preferred.

    + Experience in hospital settings or with geriatric patients is advantageous.

    + CPT and BLS certifications are beneficial.

    Work Environment

    This position is based in a patient service center with coverage that may change daily between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The role is a float position, requiring travel among locations from Irvine to South Los Angeles, including Manhattan Beach to Newport Beach. Initial training involves a two-week program at locations in Wildomar, Tustin, and Los Angeles. The training week is a 40-hour workweek, with accommodation provided if necessary. The work environment is laboratory and medical-focused, requiring standing for 50% of the time and the ability to work with both pediatric and geriatric patients.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orange, California.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $23.11 - $23.11/hr.
