    Job Description

    The Program Manager will coordinate project tasks and manage engineering milestones to ensure deadlines are met within the agreed time frame and budget. This role focuses on development projects and will not involve the Build-to-Print or contract manufacturing side of the business.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead and coordinate the technical scope with software engineers, firmware engineers, and electrical engineers.

    + Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, adhering to quality standards and procedures.

    + Partner with engineers to discuss design and engineering choices for profitability and scheduled timelines.

    + Manage communication between subcontractors, internal partners, and customers.

    + Oversee project planning, including budget, cost, and scheduling for development projects.

    Essential Skills

    + 5+ years of experience in project management, program management, or project engineering for development and R&D projects.

    + Experience leading projects or programs with a technical scope, specifically partnering with software engineers, firmware engineers, and electrical engineers.

    + Proficiency in managing budget and schedule, timelines for deliverables, and customer communication.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Preferred experience with government programs, especially in space and defense sectors.

    + Experience in space, aerospace, avionics systems, and defense aerospace industries.

    + Knowledge of AS9100 standards.

    Work Environment

    The role is based in a small site with office space, assembly, and lab areas, located in a modest office building within a small business park. The company is a space avionics and sensor systems provider with a customer base in commercial, space, and defense markets. The work environment offers a family feel with the financial backing of a larger organization. Employees have the opportunity to own and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects, without being compartmentalized. Projects involve working on systems integrated into satellites, rockets, and spacecraft, supporting major space missions.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, California.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr.
