Job Description: Class 2/3 Welder
Position Title:
Class 2 or Class 3 Welder
Reports To:
Welding Supervisor / Shop Manager / Production Manager
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious **Class 2 or Class 3 Welder** to join our fabrication or manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience with MIG, TIG, or stick welding processes and be able to read blueprints, interpret welding symbols, and follow detailed work instructions. Responsibilities include welding components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions and inspecting finished work for accuracy and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Perform welding tasks using MIG, TIG, or Stick welding techniques, depending on classification and assignment
+ Weld components according to blueprints, work orders, or verbal instructions
+ Set up and operate welding equipment, torches, grinders, and related tools
+ Prepare materials by cleaning, grinding, cutting, or pre-heating as needed
+ Inspect welds for accuracy, structural integrity, and finish using measuring tools
+ Follow safety procedures, wear proper PPE, and maintain a clean work environment
+ Assist with the setup of jigs and fixtures for production runs
+ Collaborate with other team members, supervisors, and quality control personnel
+ Maintain welding logs and documentation as required
Qualifications:
Class 2 Welder (Intermediate Level):
+ 2–4 years of welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication setting
+ Ability to weld to precise specifications and read complex blueprints
+ May require certification (AWS or equivalent) in one or more welding processes
+ Able to pass weld tests for quality and structural integrity
+ Familiarity with welding exotic metals, aluminum, or stainless steel is a plus
Class 3 Welder (Entry Level):
+ 0–2 years of welding experience
+ Basic knowledge of MIG, TIG, or Stick welding
+ Ability to read and interpret simple welding drawings and instructions
+ Willingness to learn and follow safety and quality standards
+ Certification preferred but not required (training may be provided)
Physical Requirements:
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
+ Stand, bend, or kneel for extended periods
+ Work in hot, noisy, or confined environments
+ Wear welding hoods, gloves, and other protective equipment
**Pay Details:** $21.00 to $28.00 per hour
