Job Title: Product Development Engineer
Job Description
This role focuses on product development projects within the furniture and tables sector, emphasizing new product development (NPD). The position involves CAD design and advancing designs through a phase-gate development process.
Responsibilities
+ Design development and prototype creation through the plant, including assembly and validation testing.
+ Collaborate with the operations and manufacturing team to evaluate and develop manufacturing processes.
+ Work closely with the internal BOM specialist to ensure accurate setup within the ERP system.
+ Provide technical support for design-related questions.
+ Assist with manufacturing process issues, including on-the-floor troubleshooting.
+ Offer hands-on help with product and process challenges as needed.
+ Quickly shift gears to address urgent production floor questions and ensure smooth, fast-paced production.
Essential Skills
+ Strong experience in product development.
+ Proficiency in CAD software.
+ Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a relevant field.
+ Experience with mechanical design, especially with mechanically-oriented products.
+ Familiarity with ERP systems.
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience developing furniture or related products is a plus.
+ Project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
+ 3D CAD modeling experience required, Inventor experience preferred.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
+ Understanding of component and assembly tolerancing, metal and wood product fabrication and design for manufacturability.
Work Environment
The work environment includes both office and manufacturing settings and may require occasional travel to other facilities, vendors, project sites, or for training purposes. The role offers flexible hours, typically between 8am and 5pm, fostering a collaborative atmosphere where team members can freely exchange ideas. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is essential.

This is a Permanent position based out of Elkhorn, Wisconsin.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
