Job Description
Join a dynamic Construction Management team dedicated to delivering Municipal Water/Wastewater Infrastructure projects. You will be working 100% in the field, traveling throughout the DC/VA area and engaging directly with homeowners. This role requires strong construction experience, as you will not be reporting to an office, but rather visiting different sites daily. The main team is based in Chicago, Illinois, but your work will be confined to the VA/DC areas, supporting project delivery without the need for out-of-state travel.
Responsibilities
+ Inspect and observe construction projects to ensure they meet the provided plans and specifications.
+ Identify unforeseen conditions and communicate them to supervising construction staff.
+ Maintain accurate field notes and daily reports while tracking schedule progress.
+ Perform basic estimating tasks.
+ Acquire field information to support project design.
+ Develop and maintain professional relationships with design divisions, construction contractors, and sub-contractors.
+ Demonstrate sufficient skills and judgment for inspecting portions of projects under supervision.
+ Provide supervision to less experienced inspectors.
Essential Skills
+ 1 to 3 years of inspection experience.
+ Experience working on horizontal or civil construction projects.
+ Proficiency in construction, inspection, civil, wet utility, and wastewater fields.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ A good attitude and willingness to work fully out of a car while traveling in the local market (DMV).
Work Environment
This position is field-based and requires full-time travel within the DC/VA area. You will not report to an office, and leadership is located in Chicago, Illinois. The role supports projects throughout the DMV region, with a focus on on-site inspections and direct interactions with homeowners.
Job Type & Location
This is an indefinite contract position based out of Washington, DC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
