Job Title: Senior Survey TechnicianJob Description

Join a multidisciplinary Land Development firm located in Chantilly, VA, as a Senior Survey Technician. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between field data collection and the application of that data into construction cut/fill sheets, as-built deliverables, and plats for construction, mapping, and land development projects. The position involves a mix of fieldwork and office duties.

Responsibilities

+ Read, write, and communicate effectively to maintain optimal productivity with field and office staff.

+ Draft surveys and plats utilizing AutoCAD, including boundary survey plats, record plats, easement plats, house location, and physical improvement surveys.

+ Retrieve, organize, and process downloaded field data gathered from field surveys using specialized software and import the field point data into AutoCAD drawings.

+ Check the completeness of survey data and ensure it meets specified standards.

+ Analyze survey data to ensure accuracy and consistency, resolve discrepancies or errors, and prepare it for further use.

+ Perform leveling notes and digital leveling reductions and adjustments, reporting the results.

+ Convert field data into usable formats for analysis and mapping.

+ Prepare As-built surveys and As-built Plan Submissions.

+ Prepare wall check and building/house location surveys.

Essential Skills

+ 7-10+ years of land surveying experience, mainly office-based with a preference for a mix of office and field work.

+ Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Carlson SurvCE software.

+ Experience in drafting surveys and plats, including boundary survey plats, record plats, easement plats, and house locations.

+ LSIT and/or LS (Licensed Surveyor) is preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Working knowledge of field survey data collection for topographical mapping, horizontal and vertical control surveys, right of way surveys, topographic surveys, and utility locations.

+ Experience and ability to perform traverse and boundary/retracement surveys, ALTA surveys, as-builts, and construction staking/layout.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
