    We are seeking a dynamic Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading MEP Consulting group based in Raleigh, NC. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing innovative designs for facility and building-related mechanical systems across diverse markets, including Water/Wastewater, Municipal, Industrial, Education, Science and Technology, and Federal sectors.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop innovative designs for mechanical systems in various facilities including laboratories, educational buildings, industrial sites, datacenters, and water/wastewater treatment facilities.

    + Coordinate and collaborate with a multidiscipline design team throughout the project lifecycle, from planning to construction administration.

    + Support the development of drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations.

    + Conduct field inspections, resolve RFIs, and review shop drawings during construction.

    + Create detailed designs, plans, specifications, and site layouts using BIM/CADD platforms.

    + Perform life cycle cost analyses, process calculations, and hydraulic analysis calculations.

    + Prepare technical documents and review cost opinions.

    + Provide engineering services during the construction phase, serving as the owner's representative.

    Essential Skills

    + MEP design expertise

    + Proficiency in Revit and HVAC design

    + Strong understanding of mechanical building systems, plumbing systems, and HVAC systems

    + Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in mechanical and HVAC systems design

    + BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + PE license preferred or attainable within 1-2 years

    + Strong communication skills

    + Self-motivated, organized, and flexible

    + Ability to work independently and within a project team

    + Commitment to being an active participant in an employee-owned culture

    Work Environment

    The position is based in a PDC office with some opportunities for remote work. Open to suggestions from consultants. The work environment encourages a design and technical focus, providing a platform for individuals to excel in their roles.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of RALEIGH, North Carolina.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
